Warning moment of truth breaks out momentarily on network tv the villagers don't no how to react

SULLIVAN: If Virginia and Florida go back to the Republicans, it's the confederacy, entirely. You put the map of the Civil War over this electoral map, you've got the Civil War.

IFILL: I don't know. (LP: Gwenn apparently doesn't want to challenge her seat at the table. She gets to meet a lot of important people and has a great lifestyle.)

STEPHANOPOULOS: You're rolling your eyes, George. (LP: professional Disney hack who is on tv weekly to deny the obvious)

SULLIVAN: Am I wrong?

(CROSSTALK)

WILL: You are, and I'll say why.

(LAUGHTER)

Democrats have been losing the white vote constantly since 1964, so that's not new. (LP: Will is actually right about that. They've been losing the white vote in the south when the anti-MLK vote switched from the Republicans, to the third party candidate George Wallace. Then to Republicans)

IFILL: John Kerry lost the white vote.

America is fickle over the long haul...

This is a graphic I did during the Bush Era that shows how the map has changed from Kennedy to Bush.

And his worse case already happened under Bush.

It sounds like he's trying to invoke images of another Civil War.

The north doesn't have such a negative view of government with many government is the way minority groups took power, the Irish and Boston come to mind.

In the south it reconstruction, which is African-American, which is unexceptable.

....they are concerned, the Federal Government "invaded" them during the Civil War. Then they came back and forced them to integrate their schools and the word from the Right Wing is the housing crisis was because the Federal Government was doing forced integration in their neighborhoods. Letting minorities move houses they couldn't afford and running down the value of white people's homes.

Everything is about race to them.

Many of them still think of blacks as nothing more than trained animals. Some of them think of blacks as "from Satan". They all have an opinion of them and there is a deep fear that goes to the bone that they will rise up if they get the chance like a pit bull turning on it's owner.

They feel Obama HAS to be defeated or their local blacks will turn on them.

One of the ways poor whites in the South coped was to take comfort that there was a class below them.

They resent the idea that the blacks will do better than they are or they could be considered as good as they are.
