(8,317 posts)China now owns 24% to our 18% and the EU 14%.
Meaning, China is responsible for 24% of the worlds emissions, the US 18% and the EU 14%.

(8,317 posts)Climate change just isn't a US problem
means: not us only.
I guess we should ignore China because they're not the source of all evil like the United States?
Your data is a little old.

Just wanted to inform you that your blame machine was a little off.
Time for a readjustment.

(308 posts)I've read many Chomsky articles and books, as well as watched his interviews. Yes, Noam - America is the greatest Evil on God's Earth Since Sodom and Gommorah, we're the world's biggest terrorists, yadda yadda. Take off the sackcloths and wipe the ceremonial ashes off your face - the shtick is getting really old.
Noam Chomsky and others have been playing Cassandra since the end of Vietnam - spelling doom because of US Imperialism. The question is - how long are we going to keep buying the books and hearing the speeches before we actually come up with a constructive plan to do something about it? Life's too short to sit around pontificating. Noam Chomsky has made a pretty penny playing the 'weeping prophet' , but our world needs more than secular Jeremiahs.

(68,644 posts)I, for one, tend to agree.
Noam is a great mind but I don't see as much constructive rhetoric or action from him as I do from other very solution oriented folks.
I was on a jury, I voted not to hide your post.

(3,982 posts)We need consistant "truthtellers" like NC. They play an important part. He has built a following and has a larger microphone than most. While one may not completely agree with his "take", he has opened many an eye to more hidden information. For instance, his work is very responsible for the fact that many are aware of our roles in South America.
