if someone who really doesn't have much to lose if they lose their job (like me, since I'm retired and only working a few hours a week) could sue for the employer creating a hostile working environment? I don't know, if I got such an email from my boss, I think I'd forward it to my personal email account first. Then reply, asking if it is a threat and stating that it makes me uncomfortable. Build a case.

On edit: It's not illegal by election laws, but I'm sure there are other laws that would apply. How about extortion?
