to break in their heavy cotton Tees. My dungarees are nearly as comfy as sweats.

Oh yeah, my shoes are American made. I've been wearing them since 2000.

I have a Carhartt jacket that just refuses to wear out. Comfortable, durable - couldn't ask for anything better. This is a company we need to support!

8. I remember when East TN and North Carolina were the mills of America.

Where most of the fabric America used was made in the US. You put yourself through college by working at the mills. You got ahead by starting work at minimum and quickly rose above minimum so that each summer during summer break, you could earn enough money to go back to college.

Some people would make the mills their career and would retire with decent pensions and great health benefits. Thousands and thousands of people worked at those mills. Americans raised sheep and could sell the wool for a decent price. Their money would spread throughout the community.

Now there are empty building and overgrown remnants. Now you raise hair sheep, the kind that shed their wool because the wool is practically worthless.

I remember when.....

They had machines so old it was frightening - one of them did exactly one thing - the box with an X in it to hold a strap on. Those bags are all still in service.

ladies Carrhardt jacket like men's, only cut for women. the only ones I've seen have that elastic around bottom, and are short jackets.
