It was fear fostered by ignorance that did this. Prophets and gods were the "answers" prior to the age of science. That "voodoo" approach still clings to life in these semi-stone age areas of earth. SADLY...... we're seeing a resurgence of these ignorances start to REgain a footing here in the CIVILIZED world. Just think about the mindset of the legitimate rape kerfluffle.

People like Bill Maher keep saying they are ALL nuts over there but it's really a tiny minority.

As a matter of fact, a lot of them aren't even devout Muslims any more than people who cal themselves "Christians" here are devout. Very few "Christians" ever go to church except for the last remaining tribal rituals, weddings and funerals,...and they don't take the wedding vows very seriously and some people use funerals to hit on the widow...

The bravery of Malala of this 14 year old girl brought me to tears. I was encouraged to learn of the outrage of the Pakistan people against this horrible attack by an Taliban extremist. Hopefully, this amazing young girl will recover & she & her family are in my prayers.
