Deb Butler Uses Transvaginal Probe To Attack Thom Goolsby In North Carolina State Senate Race
North Carolina state Senate candidate Deb Butler (D) released a new ad attacking incumbent Republican state Sen. Thom Goolsby, featuring Butler wielding a transvaginal probe against Goolsby's record on women's health issues.
"He wouldn't dare show you this, but this is Thom Goolsbys contribution to womens health, Butler says, while holding the probe. "A medically unnecessary, invasive procedure that is now required by state law."
He promised us his first priority would be jobs," she continues. "But instead hes following you into the doctors office.
Last year, Goolsby voted for a bill that required women seeking an abortion to submit to a transvaginal ultrasound and undergo a 24-hour waiting period before receiving services. The state senator read from the Declaration of Independence to defend his position and called the bill "necessary, so when (women) take this drastic step and deal with one of Gods creations, they know what theyre doing.

OP
Excellent ad. Should be using something like it in every state mandating state rape with objects.

decisions should remain private, and not become another arena for politics.

(36,974 posts)6. It has entered the conversation because the Republicans have been pushing for laws ...
regarding sonograms/ultrasounds/transvaginal-ultrasound.
Regarding Texas: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002281177

Regarding Pennsylvania/Virginia : http://www.democraticunderground.com/101616110
The damn Republicans are always saying that medical decisions should be between a patient and a doctor while at the same time they are trying to pass legislation mandating unnecessary invasive procedures that women do not need or want.
Really pisses me off.

You have to force these teabaggers to see what they have done with the laws in the state. I don't live in NC but I approve this ad and if I could, I would vote for her. Showing the instrument used on women is 'in your face' and I love it. Sometimes, only the truth (or in this case, instrument) proves your point.

And that's because they are fighting mad!
From Elizabeth Warren, to Claire McCaskill to Deb Butler, this is SO GOOD TO SEE!
I am thrilled. Go get 'em!
