show a picture of Mitchell (a hard-edged unflattering one) and I'd have an announcer read her words while they are typed over her face on the screen. Might be more effective. Then she can stop whining.

I think they probably feel they've done more than they should have to already. (It's certainly more than they USED to do) So now they're basically saying "What!? It was bad enough that you humiliated us into actually having to FACT CHECK the Republicans, and now you want to be able to REPEAT IT when we DO? No way! We started out with the gentleman's agreement that the GOP could bullshit, obfuscate and exaggerate as much as they wanted, but the MSM would never try to play 'referee' or verify that what they were saying is true (which it usually wasn't). That was the 'rule' from about 2000 to 2010.

Now, after a decade of Media Matters and other organizations humiliating the MSM over their obvious failure to do their jobs, the MSM has finally begun FACT CHECKING, but there is apparently a NEW rule, now. The MSM will now (grudgingly) start fact checking the GOP bullshit...but the Democrats are not allowed to REPEAT it.
