(22,676 posts)Should be a stomach turning view, to relive the disappointment and see how our country got it all terribly wrong in 2016.

(9,124 posts)I agree with you on the stomach thing. It took us months to get back to somewhat normal in our house.

(19,204 posts)I hope Trump watches (how can he resist, it's about him ) so he might finally see how ridiculous he looks.

(10,180 posts)I saw Jeff Daniels on Colbert earlier this week. Showtime wanted to hold this until after the election and he said he would pull out of the deal if it wasn't relevant. They relented and allowed it to air on time.
I can't wait to see this.

(53,968 posts)probably swung the election to trump. If it doesn't, what's the point? Comey cursed the nation with this trump administration by his failure to reign in his subordinate rogue agents in the NY FBI office who were working with Ghouliani to fatally cripple Hillary's campaign.
If he had investigated just for a day or two before sending that letter he would've found out the alleged "new" Clinton emails were dupes of ones already investigated.
He failed and has been seeking redemption ever since. I still say fuck him.

(14,178 posts)How can you hate Jeff Daniels? I gather they will explain that letter by portraying Comey as really really really thinking it was important to reveal. That he truly believed, as I've heard him say, that he did not want the scenario in which Hillary wins (which he and and everyone thought she would) and then after be accused of holding back information that the public should have had before making up their minds. Especially if this new info later proved she was doing something even more dastardly.
But that doesn't explain why he did not feel the same about Trump's Russian connections. I would have preferred some bio pic from the point of the view of someone else. But maybe they are trying to make it relevant to Republicans. To get more viewers.

(53,968 posts)on Hillary but he choose to go after her. If anything he should've done nothing or expose both alleged info packs. It's a rewrite of history if he's the hero of the film.
Newest Reality
(12,712 posts)Their depiction of Trump as an, (even more) evil-looking villein like something out of a Batman movie is fantastic.
They seemed to have pumped up the disgusting dotard with a load of hyperbolic crud and that's not easy to do, so kudos on that.
In a way, you can almost see the Joker makeup on him.

(14,178 posts)That arrogant, assholic side. Sorry but I think Alex Baldwin does not do a good impression. Makes him out to be a stupid buffoon. I don't think Trump is very intelligent, but he is very smart in conning susceptible marks. He's a great snake oil salesman and can convince himself of anything in order to sell that oil.
Newest Reality
(12,712 posts)For the sake of comedy, he presents the clownish, sphincter-faced, village idiot of Trump's reality TV character, but the self-centered, insidious, venomous, plotting, spiteful, malevolent, confidence man side, (which is most likely more in line with the real Trump) needs to be portrayed accurately and this movie may do that.
Will the real Donald J. Trump, please stand up, please stand up, please stand up!
I want to see that movie.

(29,581 posts)Or must it be watched per Showtime's schedule? We'd be watching via Roku or computer.
