(9,350 posts)I heard this at the end of a Jon Stewart clip. It was the clip where Stewart called out the Republican Party for down playing Mitt Romney's 47 percent comment while making a big deal over President Obama's redistribution comment.
When I first saw Nelson's comment I was shocked. I thought, did here really just say what I think he said. My shock later turned into complete laughter. His comment was just so foolish.
"I've been on welfare and food stamps anybody help me out." Yes, Mr. Nelson the government that provided you with the welfare and food stamps helped you out.

(5,106 posts)"Coach" was a really great show, but largely because the nuttiness of the athletic culture was on subtle but ironic display. Anyone like myself who ever dated jocks, or taught them, and found at least one gem smart enough to realize the adulation of the culture was out of hand would, I'm sure, agree. (Of course that would be those smart enough to realize they likely wouldn't end up highly paid pros.) I find it sad that Craig T. Nelson must not have realized the joke.
Another bad actor who thinks he's smart, but isn't.
