Mary Trump: Trump's Re-Election Would 'Be The End Of The American Experiment' - Day That Was - MSNBC

In an extensive interview with Rachel Maddow, President Donald Trump’s niece Mary Trump speaks about how the Trump family dynamics shaped – and warped – the man who became president. She argues that his inability to take responsibility for, or even admit, his mistakes makes it dangerous for him to remain in office: “We are in serious, serious danger here. And unfortunately that is no longer hyperbolic. That’s just the way it is.” Aired on 7/16/2020.

1. I've believed that for the last 2 years. Steve Schmitt(the Lincoln Project)said it quite well last

week. America will survive this 4 years and with a lot of effort will get back what she really is, but she wouldn't survive another 4 years. I know things look good for Joe right now but I'm still scared DT will pull something and end up winning the EC again. I pray every day for Joe to win, and I'm not a religious person.

2. I feel the same way, Trump has done so much damage and hurt so many in such a short time

Back in 2008 when I saw all the Democratic presidential candidates standing on the stage, I remember wondering who would want the job now?? But the fallout from Bush* doesn't even begin to compare, no POTUS, not Nixon, not any Bush or Reagan, has done anything like the damage that Trump has done and is still doing! And he has been a traitor, has sided with our adversaries and alienated our long-time allies. No president has been guilty of that - and I can't imagine they would have survived if they did. It's going to take years, and a lot of investigations, just to get to the bottom of all the damage Trump has done...

3. Trump is not the main problem. You don't get to President without lots of powerful support.

Trump is the just face of this group, and he is being set up to take the blame when all the misdeeds are inevitably exposed.

because we never tried a business man & someone who is not a politician. At lest THEY didn't want him for his views or his morality. The Evangelicals voted for him because thy promised them their judges. What group am I missing?

5. The oligarchs, the rich, the powerful, and their thralls.

The ones that sold him to us. The ones that decided tax cuts for the rich should be the number one priority of the GOP, that decided fossil fuels are best, that decided corporations are people, my friend. They decided these things and made them happen.

Who convinced your neighbors that a business man as President is a good idea? Who convinced them that Trump is even a business man? Why would an Evangelical want the Government to mix with their faith? Why would a taxpaying working class person believe that giving tax cuts to billionaires is going to trickle down to them? Why would people wear tea bags on their heads and demand cuts to entitlements, the very entitlements they need to live on?

These are pawns, people manipulated to vote against their own best interests.

Follow the money. Follow the power.

and even a preacher (Jimmy Carter) but nobody pleased us, so lets try a business man & see". Of course they thought he was a GOOD business man because he was rich! The Evangelicals wanted someone to put THEIR JUDGES in Fed. Office, and they got them! I'm told they held their nose & voted for him, and they aren't sorry. As to wanting the rich to be richer, they just didn't care.. They wanted TTHEIR STUFF and for the most part got it.

I'm truly hoping more thoughtful people vote for Joe this time & rid us of this monstrosity
