Even though this is Idaho, these local government protests even take place in blue states where do to open government laws, city council meetings have become an easy forum to rail against efforts to fight the pandemic and to push Trump talking points. In addition, because most folks are now reluctant to go to enclosed spaces, local government meetings are a safe space for Trump supporters to gather and reinforce their views that the pandemic is hoax and the officials are overreacting in order to hurt Trump.

We're pretty much screwed as far as controlling this pandemic because of people like the ones in the video, with their selfish behavior, childlike understanding of our country's history, and their willful ignorance about the need for wearing a mask as a minimum necessity for fighting a pandemic. Can only pray the experts find a vaccine and that we can get it out to the public as soon as feasible (and that they don't price gouge us).
