Perhaps a Little Bit of Buyer's Remorse today, Elmer Gantry?

McConnell hijacks a Supreme Court vacancy from Obama, and then destroys a century of precedent by lowering the threshold for a SCOTUS appointment to 50 votes, forever cementing his image in the history books as the worst partisan asshole to run the Senate since Preston Brooks was beating on people with his cane. Mike "Elmer Gantry" Pence then proceeds to salivate over the idea of having a faithful Party apparatchik voting to overturn every civil rights law since 1968.

And the first majority opinion Gorsuch writes is an explanation of why the SCOTUS voted to uphold LGBT rights. I love it! The only thing that makes this story sweeter, is the fact that ROBERTS FORCED him to write it. I can only imagine the look on Gorsuch's face when Roberts told him he was picking him to write the majority opinion. Probably the same look that was on that junior executive's face when Ronny Cox handed him the pistol in ROBOCOP, and told him to test ED 209.
