Many of us have realized this. It's a one-sided relationship between the Thing and his band of followers.

Isn't that the rub? We go through all this partly because of people who worship and adore a man who despises them. You can kind of see it in his mannerisms and sing-song voice at the rallies if you look carefully. It's like, "Oh these stupid fools! What a bunch of losers!" and that's only because they are buying his snake oil and gobbling up the toxins he spews.
