(63,912 posts)the guest go on and on about what idiots his competitors were, which was what he was doing. I'm sorry, but his little intramural faculty lounge feuds with other learned scholars in his academic field is not what I want to know. I wish he had elaborated on the different "keys" he was talking about. It would have piqued more of my interest in his book. His fights with other academics bore me...

(1,309 posts)This man is ego dominated. If you believe him, you think turning the ignition key on your car moves you to your destination, and the motor tires etc. do not matter. I am old school and believe in connections. The President and our party and the actions propell us to work and vote much like the engine propells the car through the transmission of power to the tires. It is this transmission of power which our belief in our leaders and the feeling produced which determine the outcome. But it is simply ignorant to pretend that relying on his predictive mechanism rather than working for our candidate is what is necessary. But then he believes that mathematics produce election results, not people. I find him so self absorbed that it is difficult to listen to him even as he tells me that my President wil be reelected- something iwant to believe. Ialso found the same crap coming out of Karl Rove.
My point is work for Obama and proressive democrats. Wemake the future by getting out there and working not by sitting back and listening to predictors. Amory Lovins, chief scientist for the Rocky Mountain Institute, says if you want a certain future , invent it. That is what we volunteers aredoing everyday as we reelect Obama through our efforts. Certainly we and other volunteers contribute a lot more to our society than this man's notions , who would just rob us of our fervent desires if believed to be determining the election. His comments are very self serving and irresponsible.
Could be another way to get you to put your guard down.
