I gave up drinking a lot of wine 8 weeks ago. Sleep better and don’t have to drive to get it. Wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be. You never know until you try.

Is this April fools joke. Don’t think this is a good idea if it’s not.

sanitizer and such. Anything that's coming into the state he has no right to regulate the manufacture of. And we're talking about two different kinds of alcohol too. The kind you can drink, and the kind you disinfect your hands with. The processes to make both types of alcohol is different, e.g., you use yeast fermenting w/ fruit residue and the other alcohol, is made differently. Perhaps I'm missing something.

wood alcohol is methanol or methyl alcohol. It was originally made by the destructive distillation of wood in the absence of oxygen (pyrolysis). ethanol or ethly alcohol is usually derived by fermenting grain and then distilling out the alcohol. This alcohol is also drinkable as wine, beer, and distilled spirits.

although a doctor did explain why alcohol sales are essential. If alcoholics go through withdrawal, they become very vulnerable for dying if they also catch COVID-19.

and to my disbelief, they still allow her a drink or so. I didn't know this. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but that's my older sister's judgment at play here, so I trust that she knows what she is doing. I hope younger alcoholic sister pulls through okay, it is s scourge (alcoholism).

alcoholic) has been told too, that she is at end stage alcoholism. Not a good thing, but she doesn't listen. I hope for her own good that she does listen and act. The family has tried everything, and nothing seems to really take permanently. She slacks off, and then starts right back up.

I wish that she would get into AA, and she would get a sponsor, who can help her. Oh well, we can't force her. A truly gut wrenching and sad thing for our family.

they live at, perhaps one day she'll get the msg. and go to an AA meeting, and get started along on the process. My sister tries to put her foot down, but as to whether alcoholic sister will truly listen? We've all tried talking to her, even a special trip out to see her (she was in Seattle WA, I'm in STLMO), when her friends out there (including her husband) called me to try and convince her to seek help.

thoughts and prayers (seriously), no children impacted fortunately, just her two brothers and one sister. She does have a good soul, but the addict in her is too strong. My older sister has tried with all of her patience and might to deal w/ her, and even went out to Seattle (along w/ a long time friend of the my alcoholic sister) and helped her move back to MO.

But no help from the friend since the move. We were kind of hoping that perhaps the friend might know of resources and such (AA, etc.), but nothing. A disappointment. At least we got an apartment (and am wondering if she'll be able to live by herself, at least my older brother is somewhat close to her new place).

Again, thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I have dealt w/ alcoholics quite a bit (since my SO works in bars, restaurants, etc.) so we're somewhat used to it, but dealing w/ drunk family family members is even harder, it seems (the emotional links). But you can't get yourself into a lather, and get yourself into a place where you can't help anyone either, thus I reassure my older sister constantly, and give her advise and help when I can (and her husband does too).

I had a friend die of alcoholism last fall and she was a mess for much of her life because she refused mental health treatment. AA didn't help. It helps some people, but others need supervision and treatment first.

It will kill them. Their bodies have become so accustomed to the alcohol, that the ability of their internal organs to function without the alcohol are nil. You can ween a heroin junkie off their drug far quicker and easier than you can an alcoholic.
