Mnuchin to Pelosi: You're quoting the Pope I'll quote the markets

In a recent interview, Nancy Pelosi told Andrea Mitchell that Trump's Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin had a very disturbing statement. During their Sunday negotiations, she said she wanted to quote Pope Francis. The Pope said, "Those who have responsibility for the care of people would be enlightened to take responsibility." She was shocked by Mnuchin's response. "While you are quoting as pope," Mnuchin said. "I am going to quote the markets."

Sometimes Republicans don’t model Nazis or Putin

Sometimes they model all Dickens’
Evil characters. Scrooge as the President,
Marley Majority Leader.

to show up at the Mint to have his/her picture taken with the first batch of currency to show THEIR name on it, it is wholly inappropriate for his human parasite of a wife to be there. My first thought was, "Get your hands off our money. You're not even an American." I believe that the look on her face is saying something like "Look at me, you peasants. I have my gloved-hands of YOUR cash. And there's nothing you can do about it." She KNOWS that most Americans detest her.

Hell, she's not even a decent actress.

with a scourge he made all on his own. Violence personified, and premeditated violence, at that.

How anyone can view this particular piece of fantasy as being in any way uplifting is beyond me.

These were merchants sanctioned by the Temple to sell clean animals for the sacrifice demanded of every Jew. They were the equivalent of today’s hospital flower shop.

They served a purpose. For instance, the moneylenders - Roman coinage was not acceptable as a tithe to the Temple. It had to be in Jewish currency. The Temple provided a service at a lower exchange rate than a Jew would have got from a Roman exchange, and most Jews used the coin of the realm in their daily lives. Jews from all over made the yearly trip to sacrifice an animal. Much better to have a clean animal available for purchase on site, rather than bringing one’s own livestock to the Temple only to have the rabbis declare the animal unclean for sacrifice.

But setting that aside, the fact that Jesus whipped his fellow human beings rather plays against the “prince of peace” moniker.

Bottom line - it’s all fiction anyway.

It depends on the management.
And that's a lot of verbiage to justify something which is "all fiction anyway."

They are all of a piece these heartless power-lusting bastards. Today it's Steve Mnuchin. Yesterday it was Josef Stalin. No difference in attitude, in lack of humanity, in smug pride in their own lack of decency and humanity.
