One school, that of Venice, put color (colore) as the highest value whereas Florence put idea or design (disegno) as the highest value. Surely the colore of the water in Venice and its reflection greatly influenced the Venetians...

water rise where I was sitting. I noticed people around me taking off their shoes and stockings and walk around barefoot.. I found that distasteful but had wet shoes and stockings as a result...

Normally there are masses of people crossing and looking out. Today only a few individual moving swiftly across to a destination.

Venice was my bucket list place that I went to in 2016,2017 and 2018. It is the most beautiful place in March when I went each year. So sad for the floods and now this. Fascinating to see the water clear.
