No wonder India loves the US right now - the parallels with the rise in nationalism are strikingly similar. The only difference is that Trump hasn't engaged in mass murder... yet.

The U.S. has always been a world leader and it seems to be spreading. John Oliver is uniquely aware of what's happening globally and most of his stories point this out. These are truly scary times.

Because he brings this stuff to light and can put things into a much different perspective than what we're used to seeing. And also make it funny. Seriously, in this day and age we need as much humor as we can get!
