I have great respect for Senator Romney. I have nothing in common with him...politics, religion, social status; but I respect his courage and his personal character for doing what is right, for standing by our Constitution, and for recognizing facts and measuring them to make a valid decision.

Mitt Romney....I salute you!

8. Perhaps, but I suspect it is linked to his opinion on Russia

He believes Russia is a threat to the US and knows Trumps affinity for Putin and Putinesque political ploys. I’m sure he was appalled by Trump’s denial of Russia’s role in the DNC server hack, Trump’s complicity in the Russian narrative that Ukraine was responsible, and can see the risks in letting Trump off the hook.

Basically, his vote is an “I told you so” about Trump.

He has no fear of Trump as he has an identity outside of the Senate.

the Republican party will straighten itself out and put him in the position of pretending to be a voice of reason that was willing to stand up to Trump when he was in office.

It took great courage to stand for his principles and against his party. He is a man of integrity.
