8. What I think may be behind this now,

Did putin agree to funnel them huge sums of money and re-election help in exchange for some of these republicans in Congress to vote against conviction of trump , with trump helping? Following the money funneled to Moscow Mitch and many others should be completely looked into by the Democrats now, for bribing the GOP. Did putin and trump use something like this to fix the trial results? I think its very possible that's what's going on now, especially after trump and the republicans were repeating known propaganda put out by putin for him.

about guilt or innocence for senators. It was always just about sticking with him because of
1) fear of his retribution
2) fear of constituent retribution

Every senator knew he was guilty. Docs and witnesses were only important to the point that they withheld the super incriminating stuff enough to make it as murky as possible for the low-infos.
