The victim basically settled in a civil suit. His life went on, did hers?

He admitted in his apology that he understood why she didn't agree that it was consensual.

His life went on. I am sorry for his family. He is not a public hero. Maybe to his kids, but it stops there for me.

I totally get that some will grieve him, and certainly so for all the victims/families in aggregate.
But yeah... He was no hero. Talented on the basketball court. Undeniably. Also apparently good at some philanthropy/motivation.
But no hero.
