1. It makes some good points

It really makes some good points by showing a statement from a supporter and then his words. However, I don't think it will change the Evangelical's views on abortion. That's really what they seem to vote for.

Also, "pretty universal thumbs down" is an egregious mischaracterization of the reaction to the thread you linked.

6. If they run this on TV

I don’t believe they can bleep out Trump’s cuss words. Political ads are protected speech under 1st Amendment.
When I was young, a Klansman ran for Governor of Georgia. Seated in front of confederate flags, he used the N word a dozen times in the ad. Things like “the only reason N———s want the vote is to get our white women.”
All the station could do was run a disclaimer before the ad apologizing for it and pointing out that legally they had no choice but to run the ad as it was submitted.
I think this might hurt Trump. I know I wouldn’t want to have to explain to young children why my candidate and the man I had been praising as a great President was saying things that would get the children punished or kicked out of school.
