Seems like the closer you live to the border the less it bothers you. brush Jan 2020 #4

I want to know, what papers prove you're a US citizen?
Birth Certificate only proves you were born here, but you could have immigrated to another country.
Also, if you immigrated to the US, the birth certificate is useless.
Drivers License doesn't prove anything.
Who carries their Social Security Card with them?

The only document that would come close is a US Passport, but not everyone gets or has one.
Also, the state department may issue you a US Passport for security purposes (i.e. foreign spy maybe?)
I had one in the 90's, but after it expired, I didn't get another one until 2018.

If I see this happening, I would have asked the "Security Guard" if he has papers to prove his citizenship!

My family is Indian-American. My grandparents and parents immigrated here legally. My siblings are I were born here. And we feel obligated to carry our US passports when traveling domestically in border states like Texas and Arizona because even our licenses aren't enough. Doesn't even matter that we have very common Christian names and are native English speakers. They feel entitled to harass us because we're brown. Some of my relatives have been straight up told by CBP officers their names can't be real. For someone like me, it's easier to travel in Canada or Iceland than to visit national parks in my own country.

It's the same type of mentality of the racist police in many areas where they stop black Americans without cause.

Some whites feel safer when they see brown people stopped by authority figures in uniform. And it reinforces their prejudiced beliefs that a brown person must be have done something to deserve harassment.

would I like to visit Japan? I told them I would love to but I would fear coming home because I am of Japanese decent and would have trouble entering the US because of Trump and the racial climate here in America. I will not leave this country to visit any where while Trump is still in office.

Hi yuiyoshida, I would like to visit Japan in about a few years. Quixote1818, I hope there can be powerful scenes of people stepping up against racial profiling in Missouri.
