Social Credit System Coming To China, With Citizens Scored On Behavior

Silicon valley is now apparently investigating/working on this too ... Many Westerners are disturbed by what they read about China’s social credit system. But such systems, it turns out, are not unique to China. A parallel system is developing in the United States, in part as the result of Silicon Valley and technology-industry user policies, and in part by surveillance of social media activity by private companies.

That is Orwellian. This also looks very, very dystopian.

Why? Well, it is not just the surveillance, which is bad enough, but the scoring can be gamed and adjusted to manipulate the masses more directly than before. Plus, you it has a potential to create more and more pariahs, (untouchables) and a digital caste structure as well.

It looks like China is dead set on cementing its government in place indefinitely AND giving other countries ideas about how to do that.

What happens, eventually, to all the personas non grata this is going to create? Do they get "reeducated" in rehabilitation facilities or sent to work camps or abandoned by society, or worse?

Constant surveillance of people in various scenarios has been shown to have very negative impacts for obvious reasons. This is not good for people in a number of ways.

Of course, then there is hacking. It could be easy to ruin somebody's life or level them up, depending.

Most people are alright with that? Do they have a choice? They may not have many anymore other than to be a player in a government video game in an and endless 1984.

I wonder who noticed SKYNET on the screen at 2:09. A joke? Did it get slip by the government?

Skynet is a fictional artificial neural network-based conscious group mind and artificial general intelligence (see also superintelligence) system that features centrally in the Terminator franchise and serves as the franchise's central antagonist.

Skynet is rarely depicted visually in any of the Terminator media. Skynet gained self-awareness after it had spread into millions of computer servers all across the world; realizing the extent of its abilities, its creators tried to deactivate it. In the interest of self-preservation, Skynet concluded that all of humanity would attempt to destroy it and impede its capability in safeguarding the world. Its operations are almost exclusively performed by servers, mobile devices, drones, military satellites, war-machines, androids and cyborgs (usually a terminator), and other computer systems. As a programming directive, Skynet's manifestation is that of an overarching, global, artificial intelligence hierarchy (AI takeover), which seeks to exterminate the human race in order to fulfill the mandates of its original coding.
