I keep coming back to what happened at the dollar store.

A 4yo took something at the dollar store, worth maybe $1-2. Not unusual behavior for a 4yo.

Why did the dollar store employee call the cops instead of approaching the family and saying “Your little one likes that doll, should she put it back or do you want to buy it for her?”

I think that dollar store needs to be boycotted out of existence for criminalizing a 4yo’s behavior and escalating this whole thing.

Who would call the cops on a 4-year-old?? Did they think that the parents put her up to it - for a dollar or two?? It really makes no sense at all - especially when it would have been so easy to resolve if only they had spoken to the parents before they left the store.
