America does not need a wobbly leader at the helm. We need a steady hand at the keel.

This guy is the one who'd jump into the lifeboat at the first sign of bad weather. Period.

I also think he'd allow himself to be led by the nose by the old PNAC crowd that would like to plunge the US into major global warfare (WWIII).

discourse. It refers to the famous document, signed by all the warmongers, called Project for a New American Century. The point of the document was that we needed a "new Pearl Harbor" event to justify extending our military power across the globe, especially into the Mideast, where "our" valuable oil resources are located.

Many people (called "truthers&quot believe that the Bush Administration either engineered 9/11* (MIHOP**) or deliberately allowed it to happen (LIHOP***) in order to provide a justification for invading Iraq. since they were chomping at the bit to do so anyway. When 9/11 happened, Rumsfeld instructed his underlings to sweep everything into the analysis of the incident--Iraq.

Cheney, Jeb Bush, Rumsfeld, and many others who were the architects of the Iraq War were PNAC signatories.

By the way, I am a college English instructor. I assure you that when your readers can be assumed to have a general familiarity with the acronym or initialism you are using, it is considered perfectly acceptable to use the shortened form rather than spelling out the whole title of the thing you are referring to. For example, no one demands that NATO be spelled out as North American Treaty Organization, or that OAS be spelled out as Organization of American States.

Here on DU (Democratic Underground), we have been discussing in detail PNAC and the people who signed it ever since 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq. In general, we feel safe in assuming that those who read and post on this site are familiar with PNAC.

For the record, I too get very annoyed at the proliferation of unexplained acronyms and initialisms on the internet, when those abbreviations really are not generally familiar. But on a site like DU something like PNAC is so frequently referred to that in general we can assume that most DUers are familiar with it. The title Project for a New American Century is long enough that it is cumbersome to type out in its entirety, as are the full phrases for MIHOP and IHOP.

*9/11--refers to the events on September 11, 2001, when al-Qaeda (apparently) attacked the US by having agents fly commercial airlines into the two buildings known as the World Trade Center (WTO, for future reference).

Kindly point how how the President has flip-flopped on important issues like abortion, Medicare, Social Security, the stimulus, voter's rights, etc. etc. etc.

You can't. Because he has not.

Email them the link to the video. Post on social media so it is seen by people who do not visit DU. Stand in the middle of the street while wearing a suit of armor and use your ipad to get passing motorists view it.
