Why It Could Get Ugly

The rest of us don't call all this politics.
We might call it stochastic terrorism.
They might call it christian defense against the godless.
However we see Trump's base, this video goes a fair way toward showing how they see themselves and the very "essentialist" beliefs they hold about anyone different from themselves.
The prophecy frame comes out of Mark Taylor's "nightmare" turned "vision" of Trump's win in 2017. Which triggered Republican "thought leaders" to widely disseminate the "film" across christian sects that are anti-gay, anti-abortion, racist and nativist.
The kind of boring history of the evangelical movement is compensated by the last half that shows how Trump coddles evangelicals' parareligious relationship with him.
We can't act like nobody told us that religion would ever justify such politics.
