I was young when Pistol Pete was playing, but the only teams and players that intrigued me was UCLA, and the Lakers.

In retrospect, Wilt Camberland wasn’t the only giant out there..

I never get tired of watching video clips of this b-ball wizard. I remember watching him score 63 against the Knicks. He played college ball before the 3-pointer existed. Imagine his records if you counted all the 3-point range shots he made.

5. A local legend

As a kid, we idolized him on the court. At LSU then the New Orleans Jazz, he became a local legend. And by local, I mean he sat in the same church pew as I. Always in the back near the exit to avoid attention. I sat in the same area, but just because I am uncomfortable in crowds.

And Lord knows I attract a crowd wherever I go. Not.
