It just gets worse and worse. It will take decades for us to get these types of regulations and many others back in place. I'm glad I'm an old fart and won't live long enough to see a lot of the environmental destruction, selfish statement, but true.

Stop believing the fiction that the majority rules in America. It's a lie and always has been.

Throughout most of American history, a minority has fucked everyone else for their own profit. Fortunately, during the periods when they weren't in control, we got Social Security, a minimum wage, Medicard, Medicaid, and so much more.

And that greedy minority is trying to turn back the clock on those earned benefits.

NOT "ENTITLEMENTS." EARNED BENEFITS.

Let's not allow them to fuck us again.

to pollute and screw up the planet with no limits, as long as you can exercise some sort of "freedom" to make stupid, unnecessary choices.

Having robbed many 'Muricans of a financially stable, prosperous life and the true freedom that such a life confers, the cons seek to substitute some deranged concept of "freedom"-to own any gun, use any amount of unnecessary consumable pollution source, etc. etc. etc. They are infantilizing the citizenry--nothing matters except that I get to do what I want (in a very limited sphere).

Just like the car industry scaling back emission standards (they’re not). The light industry already has to much invested in LEDs to go backwards now.

The industry will push back. One thing a business wants more than anything else is stability.
They are not going to change on a dime because trump says so, just to go back when a Democrat gets elected in 2020.

This is ridiculous, just a sideshow distraction to wave a literally shiny object in front of their base on how they are “owning the libs”.

I have a furnace that dates to 2003 or 2004. It's only about 80% as efficient as new ones. Going through all the R&D and work just like LED makers why would they go backwards?

This article is misleading, what it means is that LED bulbs were supposed to be made even more energy efficient by 2020 if I remember right and fat ass Trump has told the industry not to worry about it,he'll throw the law in the trash can.

Doesn't matter, bulb makers will continue on without Trump and do it on their own.

situation, that's the one he pursues. Fill positions with the least-qualified people and have them make the worst possible decisions. Mission accomplished!

Well, that and doing the opposite of whatever Obama did.

What middle-class American hasn't asked himself, herself or themself:

"Why do I pay so much for my chandelier bulbs? And is there any way I can pay more?"

Now we know why, thanks to stable geniuses like Trump and Perry:

It's them damn job-killing regulations.

This country is gonna be like those small dying towns that have tumbleweed rolling down the dusty streets, with rows of boarded up businesses. The rich will be living in pristine gated counties, while the rest of us toil for soup and bread.
I can think of a 100 dystopian novels that describe this, and none of them seem farfetched.

One thing that is rarely answered tho....how can you stay rich when the Golden Goose is dead?

I suspect the light bulb manufacturers will ignore these fools and continue to produce LED and CFL bulbs. Ditto for automobile makers -- just keep on making more and more efficient cars.

Before Trump I never imagined it was possible for one group of people to be so goddam stupid.
