(18,837 posts)My "guess" is that CNN camped out because of that. Doesn't mean they weren't alerted. This was a coin toss. It was something last night that "could" happen this morning. And it did.

(200 posts)A bit long, so I will just say tl;dr: Yes, they were camping out.
I work near the Ballston metro, and have for many years. I drive on N Glebe road most days. There was a time during the W Bush admin where every day, for months, no matter the time, temperature, or weather, that there was a large group of people (10-20) sitting in lawn chairs, sometimes under umbrellas or pop-up canopies depending on weather, on the public space between the sidewalk and the condo community property. They all had nice cameras, some on tripods, pointed towards the building. I never knew who lived there, although I tried to find out, but assumed it must have been someone of interest. And then, one day, they were no longer there, never knew why.
Remember when it was rumored Snowden was booked on a particular long flight, and a bunch of journalists booked the same flights, only to find out he wasn't on the flight?
The building I work in is across the alley from where the Hillary Clinton headquarters was. I used to see creepy people with cameras parking in their cars, trying to hide a camera under a newspaper (seriously) when I would go to lunch, or just take a break walking around the neighborhood. The funny thing is that around that time I saw a bunch of weird rumors about how the Clinton campaign was shredding documents! They saw a secure shredder truck in the alley beside her campaign headquarters. No, it was from the building next door (which I worked in), which housed several large businesses who take data security seriously. Let the stupid rumors fly.

(1,191 posts)Interview this morning was laughable! After an hour of the raid she said she had not yet read the indictment, but condemned it for being lies. The news anchor who was interviewing her, ran around her in circles with a flag says, IDIOT!
