(205,531 posts)Bill Maher likely made an appearance because his show is - finally - coming back later this week. It's been a long wait, he must have a lot to weigh in on!

(63,221 posts)It was really good to hear him. I don't agree with everything he says, but just hearing him on Hardball makes me realize how much I miss his voice. Because he "tells it like it is"! He's not wishy-washy. He is forceful in his opinions and firmly against Trump. I would like to see a Democratic politician with more of his qualities.
Thanks for posting Rhiannon!

(205,531 posts)And we thought Seth and Colbert were gone for too long! It's been a couple of months, rather than weeks! I know he makes appearances all over, especially when he's off, but it seems like his show is always "on hiatus..." And he's definitely got opinions on everything, but fortunately he mostly agrees with us, LOL. And John Oliver is supposed to be back this coming weekend, too!

(63,221 posts)Since we are expecting a storm this weekend I am looking forward to some Bill and John to inspire me through the winter doldrums!
Hope you are staying warm in upstate NY! I am going up next weekend for my parents 50th anniversary surprise party (my siblings and I are planning). I heard it's freezing up there and you are getting a lot of snow.

(205,531 posts)I drove home today across New York (with my dog and cat) after being away for the holidays - and as soon as I got off the Northway, it started really coming down, but fortunately it didn't last long. I really hate it, but we've been relatively lucky - so far.
And I'm looking forward to hearing from both Bill and John - so much has been going on, there's certainly no shortage of material. I expect Bill to have a lot to say, though I've read that John Oliver isn't a fan of talking about Trump, he leaves the breaking news stories to the weeknight guys. But what's been happening is so unprecedented and unbelievable, I wouldn't be surprised if he made an exception, especially after having missed so much.

(205,531 posts)And he retaliates with his rage Tweets and tantrums - like he did today with Nancy Pelosi and company - when anyone (Congress) or the laws and norms of this country get in his way. Bill Maher comes back with his show tomorrow night - it'll be interesting to hear more on his take on what's been happening now.
