(7,888 posts)Thanks for sharing this, Don Lemon told him and US what he thinks. We need more MSM truth speaking like this.

(22,879 posts)I can't be friends with a racist or wife-beater. So why would I be friends with someone who supports a president who separates young children and babies from their parents for applying for asylum in the US, who supports voter suppression, who lies about election results to support his party, who......the list is long. When it comes to my parents, I hold my nose and do my best to be civil.

(7,220 posts)Of course there is freedom of speech and freedom of political choice. But society shuns people who are racist, sexist, homophobic and so forth. There are societal consequences of being an asshole. Difference of opinion is fine, but this is something entirely different. Anyone who supports Trump and claims they're not a racist is delusional and dangerous. I don't suffer such people.
And I get flack for this, but I extend that philosophy to guns. If you want to be a responsible gun owner, good for you. But anyone who can't stop defending guns in the immediate aftermath of the murder of innocents and children can fuck off. I do not consider this to be "politics", it's a matter of life and death, and these types of people choose death. FUCK them.

(5,275 posts)I play a lot of relatively high level womens tennis and one of my three best gal pals there is a Trump supporter. She could not be nicer and more empathetic. It is bewildering that someone like that could support that Creep but if she just watches Fox she gets a filtered version of him.
The other 2 are progressive so its not that bad and we steer clear of politics around her.

I always wondered about James Carville and Mary Matalin as well.
