We started at midnight (6 PM Eastern time), and went through to 6 AM German time. A German-speaking Republican was on the phone from Berlin, while I was actually in the studio in Köln. After the program was done and the glorious result was proclaimed, I stopped off at a Democrats Abroad party being held in another part of Köln on my way home.

Another era, for sure.
