Unfortunately, the GOPs are members of the satan club and we in the USA and the world are being harmed by them.

(2,809 posts)Today I see the stars and stripes probably much like Colin felt, experiencing stadiums full of Americans stand, and put their hands over their hearts in blind allegiance, Blind to the reality of systemic oppression.
Here is a confirmation that is doubly so blind, tone deaf and disgusting.
Their symbol is a spoiled frat boy, a drunk, a heterosexist pig and unmistakably dishonest. He has a history of bashing the oppressed, siding with uncaring corporate polluters and murderers. He has been known to hire only women of a certain "model look" as clerks. The ABA downgraded his status from "highly qualified" to just "qualified" after a few interviews.
Today, I'd not only be inclined to kneel for the anthem, I don't know if I could resist punching the lights out of someone still wearing their stupid MAGA hat.

(51,604 posts)home made anti-Kavanaugh pin (with mini coat hanger hanging from it) and did my errands dressed head to toe in black. When I got to CVS I asked the woman there if Saltpetre really works. We both laughed and she asked the pharmacist. He was from another country and never heard of "the myth" of Saltpetre being given to sailors to make them less aggressive (and horny) so he actually googled it to look at the scientific info. It turns out that it is sodium nitrate (I think that's what he said) and it is an old food preservative and does the opposite of tightening blood vessels and cutting off blood, it opens blood vessels instead. I wonder why ships' chefs put it in food to calm the sailors down?
