but he turned the conversation around to the Democrats we're at fault for not doing so instead of discussing the Republican stance on the process. Basically, the Democrats are at fault!

As such, he's likely a Kavanaugh backer and may well be urging a walkout by Dem committee members because he knows their doing so would only expedite the approval process with less dirty laundry being aired.

These Never Trumper Republicans are NOT OUR FRIENDS. Bashing the Democrats will help Republicans in the mid-terms and that is why they are doing it.
