Children - Obama for America TV Ad

Learn more: http://OFA.BO/aCPft7  Kevin: "Some of our children's greatest experiences have been in the smaller classrooms."  Voiceover: "But Mitt Romney says classroom sizes don't matter and he supports Paul Ryan's budget which could cut education by 20%."  Kevin: "You can't do this by shoving thirty, thirty-five people in a class and just teaching to some test."   Caroline: "These are all issues that really he personally cannot relate to. To be able to afford an education, to want the very best public education system for your children."

It's not the same as actual teaching but it has given me a great insight into what teachers have to deal with on daily basis
I can handle about 8 kids alone and maintain control of the class
but there have been times when I have had as much as 16 kids, and all it takes is one or two kids to throw of the entire class with their behavior or tantrums or whatever. Once that happens the plans I had in place get disrupted and it becomes harder to accomplish the goals I set for the class.

I think it would benefit policy makers to spend a week at an over crowded school and just observe what it's really like to be in the trenches with teachers.

I have had the gambit of students
Cry babies
trouble makers
attention seekers
personal space invaders
the ones who act like they have a hearing problem
the tattle talers
My personal favorite the know it all < I think that one is the Republican LOL
there was even a situation where a 6 year assulted an upper class student by slamming the door in her face and breaking her glasses
and the father of the 6 year old got mad at me for reporting the incident to the principle, who did nothing.

It's amazing.
And the whole time I have to keep a smile on my face and can't tell little johnny what I really think

I will say this I do enjoy teaching the children and hopefully leaving them with the importance of excercise but I just wasn't prepare for all that you have to do to effectively teach a class anything. As I said I have gotten better and I am looking forward to meeting my new group of students this fall. Every class is different
