Thom Hartmann: This Election is about whether Medicare will Exist...or Not

Neal Asbury, Truth for America joins Thom Hartmann. On one side, we have President Obama who extended the life of Medicare without cutting any benefits. On the other side, we have Romney/Ryan who want to voucherize Medicare and cut benefits. Why does Paul Ryan think he can win this debate? Let's cut to the chase...Republicans have no interest in preserving Medicare, right? This election isn't about who'll better protect Medicare, it's about whether or not Medicare should exist right?

It's smoke and mirrors to distract low info. voters. xtraxritical Aug 2012 #3
It still isn't fair. If I've got to pay 15.3% (or something close to that) so should they. HopeHoops Aug 2012 #4

by raising the cap on income subject to withholding, very simple. The problem is, employers hate SS and Medicare withholding because they must pay a portion too. Vote Democratic!

I've paid it my entire working career. If you make $70K, you pay the same rate as someone who makes $10K. Why the hell can you make millions and only pay the rate of one of your peon workers?

And how the FUCK do you get away with only paying 13% on income taxes? (To be fair, he never uses the word "income&quot

On Edit: I meant on self-employment income, but employers who pay the other half compensate with lower pay rates.
