During WWII after the Dutch government capitulated to Hitler, Military officers were required to either sign a promise not to engage in hostilities against Hitler or they were immediately sent to POW camps. Most officers signed. Those who didn't agree were taken away (a number escaped). After a while however, RAF planes piloted by Dutch flyers were getting shot down. It turned out that these officers had signed the non-hostility contract (the Nazi's were organized so they could figure this out!) and then left for England to continue the fight. In 1942 all Dutch officers were sent to POW camps for the duration.
