7. Trying to be Fair and Balanced

I guess they could get a smarter conservative to give the conservative view, but I think the reason they think they need her is that they want to have a conservative view so that conservatives have less of an ability to claim the show has a liberal bias. I think from the beginning the producers and creator(s) of the show have tried to give at least one conservative viewpoint. Maybe the first five women and when Lisa Ling was a cast member all the women had the same or similar liberal viewpoints, but since Elizabeth Hasselback, there seems to be an effort to get at least one conservative viewpoint no matter how stupid, or unreasonable that person happens to be.
