(4,520 posts)is getting out of hand.
My MIL is the head of housekeeping for a large university. About 1/2 her crew speak English as a 2nd language. Every few months for the past 5 years or so she has had to tell someone that she will NOT fire someone else for speaking Spanish while they are on breaks. One dude was fired after he literally busted into her office, while her boss was there, demanding that the entire campus speak English only. How much you want to bet he told his buddies a Mexican took his job?

(2,412 posts)Speaking Spanish at work and school is protected by our constitution as free speech. Maybe the co worker could learn Spanish too, it has served me well at work to be bilingual.
