At the start of his meeting with senior military leadership, Trump blasted the FBI raid on Cohen, calling it a "disgraceful situation" and an "attack on our country..." Then he said, "And here we are talking about Syria and we’re talking about a lot of serious things. We’re the greatest fighting force ever. And I have this witch hunt constantly going on for over 12 months now..."

Trump can't do two things at once, launch another war in the ME while the "witch hunt" is distracting him, so something has to go, and it won't be his military toys.
