Related: About this forumHow to spot a liar
When you accuse someone and their first instinct is not to deny the accusation but to attack you or a third party, that's deceptive behavior.
When you ask someone a direct question and instead of simply answering the question they try to convince you that they are a good person, that's deceptive behavior.
"Why would I do that? I swear! I've always been a good employee! But honestly, just between you and me, ..."
When you ask someone a direct question and they respond with qualifiers like "not really", that's deceptive behavior.
When you ask someone a direct question and they start shifting in their seat or shaking their foot or scratching themselves, that's a sign that they have a fight-or-flight reflex.
When you ask someone a direct question and they portray an emotion that does not fit the situation (even for a fraction of a second), that shows a mental disconnect, a sign of mental stress.
And there's many more telltale signs. If such clues form a certain timing and pattern, you have found yourself a lie.

(24,312 posts)1. One of Trump's "tells" about lying
is whenever he touches the tip of his index finger to the tip of his thumb. That's not the only time he is lying, but when he does this, he is lying 100% of the time. I spotted this very early in the campaign.
Believe me. (another tell)
Everybody is saying this. (another one)

(16,423 posts)3. Wow. All three examples fit perfectly into the video:
"Believe me." - a statement to convince you that he's a good person
"Everybody is saying this." - a qualifying statement that is given instead of a hard, verifiable information
And the fingers. Fiddling with your finger-tips is a classic.

Grab him by his thin but long yellow hair with one hand, and paint him with polka dots with the other.
