(6,537 posts)I think the Bolero was one of the greatest, if not the greatest, ice dance routine ever. Christopher Dean choreographed it himself! Stunningly beautiful and so hypnotic.

(24,324 posts)However, from the snare drum player's point of view, it is not fun one bit. It is fiendishly difficult. I've done it twice and will do it again at the end of April. Not looking forward to it at all. 🤐
Plus, most orchestras don't like it either, boring. In fact in major orchestras it is usually done with little or no rehearsal, unless there is some smart ass guest conductor who thinks he/she actually has something new to add.

(15,412 posts)and worth it. Everyone was anticipating it and talking about them. He is the bullfighter and she is his cape. When he lifts her at the beginning you can see already they are so different.
Anyone see ski ballet? Olympic event in the 1980s. Very weird.
