Iowa City students hold walkout in the wake of Parkland, Florida, school shooting


Students from City High, West High and South East Junior High gathered at the Pentacrest and pedestrian mall to protest gun violence Monday, Feb. 19, following the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Valentine's Day.

This anti-violence, anti-gun movement is just starting.

And it is starting among the young.

I predict that the anti-gun and anti-domestic-violence movements will merge and that thanks to them, we will become a much better, much safer country.

Far less violence toward and among children will also come out of this movement.

We don't have to be such an angry, violent country.

This is wonderful!

that is hurting this country, but the money from all of the Special Interests that have robbed us of Representative Democracy! When you see over 90% of Americans favor either background checks and/or assault weapons bans and we get neither from our politicians you know you are not represented.

Campaign bribe money is ruining this country and guns are just another symptom of this corruption.

Thank you to the younger generation for taking this fight to these ammoral sell outs!!!
