Generally speaking, to me the non-lawyer, spouses can't be forced to testify against one another.
They can, like any business partnership, contract debts for one another. A marriage is a legal entity,
every bit as much as an LLC or a corporation. By what right does the government break these bonds
against the will of the individuals involved?
