(when I could afford it)... But, while I am not a vegetarian, I do believe in humane practices from birth to "death" and haven't eaten lobster in more than a decade. Not sure I will again.

You really don't get as much "meat" as you would with Dungeness Crab. Which is why I prefer Dungeness Crab and its widely sold at Fisherman's Wharf in SFCA.

There are a lot of good things to eat in Switzerland.

Lets let the lobsters try to reclaim some of their territory anyway, and go easy on them.

In my youth I lived near the beach in Los angeles and fresh California spiny lobsters were easy to come by. The store owner would plunge the tip of a sharp knife straight down right behind the lobster's eyes to kill it immediately and I'd take it home to cook. That the way I learned do it.

I was shocked the first time I saw a restaurant throwing live lobsters directly into boiling water. Its just inhumane.

I like to clean the lobster of all it's innards before boiling, to get a cleaner, sweeter taste. This of course requires dexterity and a very sharp knife.
