The percussionist in this performance is Evelyn Glennie, who is deaf and performs barefoot so she can feel the music she cannot hear. She's a virtuoso on vibes, and snare. Vernon Jordan reads the words of Martin Luther King Jr. Musically, this is a great performance, with Leonard Slatkin and the National Symphony Orchestra.

This work is modeled after Aaron Copland's A Lincoln Portrait, here performed with Henry Fonda, Copland conducting the London Symphony Orchestra:

Hope you enjoy. It's something we need to hold us together in these trying times. Hope!
