after I saw what the NRA did in the state of Indiana back in the 1980's:
it was yet another case of 7 year old Jimmy getting hold of his dad's loaded
handgun (stupidly left right where the kid could get to it) pointed it at the
6 year old neighbor kid Tommy and shoots him dead--
the Indiana state legislature said "enough's enough" and started working on
new legislation for a law which would punish these ignorant gun owners
for their negligence.
the NRA got wind of this, came to Indianapolis and started throwing
considerable money around the state house to put the kabosh on this
legislation. Beengo! No new law.
as a result, we still have dozens of kids killed per year in these exact same
sort of pathetic scenarios-- all totally the fault of ignorant, irresponsible
gun owners.
the NRA wants us to believe these are "merely accidents" or I suppose
"acts of God". Weak, very weak.
The NRA is useless to me. Not interested in what they've got to say regarding
anything.
