Hebrews 13:3English Standard Version (ESV)
3 Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.

Psalm 69:33 ESV
For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.

Matthew 25:35-46English Standard Version (ESV)
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’

someone would post this at christmas time. If I knew how to post videos etc. I'd post Arlo Guthrie doing 'Shackles and Chains'. Yet another good 'prison song'. I've never been in a jail in my life, but I can certainly empathize with anyone who is or has been.

Somehow I knew I'd see you chime in on a Prine post, Blue. Looks like we have more Prineophiles that I originally thought. And that's a good thing!

I'm going to have to learn how to post this stuff. I imagine you need a host to upload them to, and then copy the URL to the DU Post, but I'm not familiar with any of the hosting sites. Photobucket used to be popular, but from what I understand they've fallen out of favor with everyone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Used to love The Pretenders back in the day. I'm not too familiar with Alicia Keys, but I'll do some research. Thanks again amigo.

Always loved J.C. Not a great voice, but you could tell his soul went into every word. And he always gave back to the prisoners, although never having spent time there himself, and that really means a lot to men/women who are made to feel sub-human every day in the slammer. I think J.C. did spend a couple of nights in the slammer, but nothing of any consequence. There were rumors flying around that he killed a man, yada, yada, yada, but that was a bunch of bull. I think most singers who actually sing about prison have seldom been on the wrong side of the law.

Yeah, I'll be around on and off all week if you want to send me a PM. If not, maybe you could recommend a host for pictures, videos etc, I could upload to, that would be great as well. Take care, and always have a song in your heart.
