He would sooner Knife his Fellow Republicans in the back if the FBI came down on him like a ton of bricks, and I hope they do. Trump sold this country out to Russians and to his Rich, Rich base. But you know, he is greedy. If he could, he would walk into Fort Knox and steal every bar of gold there and pass out a few to his buddies. Hell, he might even give some to his BELOVED Vladimir Putin.

Executive office requires different skills than Bernie has. I don't think he'd accept a VP offer. He has far more power to change things as a Senator.
The Wielding Truth
(11,415 posts)I'll give you that.

(32,640 posts)That's one characteristic of a gadfly.
I think that's why he's an independent. Political parties are a team. Democrats as a party are about various coalitions working together towards a goal. To make that happen, you must listen to people, and learn from their experiences.
Bernie considers people who disagree with him at all to be wrong, or worse. That's not conducive to leading a party, let alone a country.
At least as a Democrat.

(32,640 posts)And BTW, Socrates refused to pursue conventional politics; he often stated he could not look into other's matters or tell people how to live their lives when he did not yet understand how to live his own.
So there's that.
You seem to consider gadfly an insult. Why?
Plato in his Apology for the life of Socrates reminds us that all societies need a gadfly to sting the steed of state into acknowledging its proper duties and obligations.
Bernie is not known for respecting views that differ from his. He has been described by progressive colleagues as viewing dissent from his ideas as an indication of corruption. This is not a problem for an activist, but it is for a career politician. But a majority of his constituents voted for him, and what they think of their representative in election years is what matters in terms of his remaining a career politician.
Demit
(11,238 posts)That is exactly the problem with a person like Bernie Sanders. He can only lecture at, when he really needs to work with.
The Wielding Truth
(11,415 posts)I would presume we all know that. Why are there those who want to view him as and egotistical guy when he is just working hard for all of us.
